Job summary

TNMP is seeking a System Protection Engineer I–IV or Principal Engineer to perform complex protection studies and relay settings for reliable transmission and distribution systems. The role includes compliance with NERC CIP, mentoring, and coordination with field teams across TX locations.

Ideal candidates have ABET engineering degrees, 1+ year for entry level up to 10+ years for Principal Engineer, and PE license for senior levels. Occasional relocation may be considered within Texas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 1–3 years experience for Engineer I; FE certificate or Master's for Engineer II.
• Engineer III requires 4+ years; Engineer IV 5–7 years; Principal Engineer 10+ years with PE license.

Responsibilities

• Perform short circuit, overcurrent and distance coordination studies using ASPEN Oneliner.
• Develop and adjust protective relay settings for projects.
• Analyze disturbances and propose mitigations per NERC PRC-004.
• Serve as SME on NERC/CIP compliance standards.
• Review relay schematics and deliverables ensuring standards compliance.
• Provide technical direction to field personnel and contractors.
