Job summary

A System Development Engineer with AWS GCNA’s Backbone Enterprise, and Regional Engineering team is sought to design, implement, and sustain networking automation across global data centers. You will work with software, hardware, and network engineers to deliver scalable, reliable designs for AWS customers.

You will contribute to network routing automation, tooling, and deployment processes, and you will help standardize configurations while supporting large-scale events with deep technical

Qualifications

• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, OS).
• Non-internship software development experience.
• Experience designing or architecting scalable systems.
• Experience in networking, storage, and OS with hands-on systems engineering.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language (C++, C#, Java, Python, Go, PowerShell, Ruby).

Responsibilities

• Create and implement automation changes on the network.
• Lead network projects across sustaining engineering, implementation, scaling, best practices, and/or optimization.
• Sustain AWS backbone networks for large customers with deep dive and incident mitigation.
• Develop automation for routing, interconnectivity, platforms, performance, and configurations.
• Drive and support innovation from Top of Rack to Network Border and everything in between.
• Partner with the Network/Infrastructure organization on standards and tools.
• Collaborate with Network/Systems/Software teams for fast rollout of new designs and tooling.
• Maintain standards across the networking toolset and ensure compliance.
• Deliver simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions and processes.
• Collaborate with escalation engineers and document processes.
