Job summary

AWS Core Networking is seeking a Network Development Engineer to join the Backbone Enterprise, and Regional Engineering (BERE) team in Herndon, VA. You will collaborate with Infrastructure to ensure fast rollout of designs and deploy networking software tools across global data centers.

Key duties include sustaining AWS networks for large customers, diagnosing and resolving complex events, and working with Unix systems and automation to improve efficiency. Travel to data centers as needed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience.
• 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience.
• 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl.

Responsibilities

• Work with automation teams to scale tools for higher volume.
• Lead network projects across sustaining engineering, deployment, scaling and optimization.
• Sustain AWS networks for major customers by diagnosing, mitigating, and resolving large-scale events.
• Operate and troubleshoot routing, interconnectivity, platforms, performance, and configurations with Unix systems and networking tools.
