Job summary

Bowman Williams is seeking an experienced Level 2.5 MSP System Administrator to work with the Operations Engineering Manager on technical projects and client escalations. This is a hands-on role requiring independent project ownership and strong collaboration with engineering leadership.

The position is primarily office-based with minimal field work, involving onboarding, migrations, and ongoing support across Windows Server, cloud, virtualization, networking, and security.

Qualifications

• MSP experience supporting multiple client environments.
• Strong Level 2 / Level 2.5 systems administration and escalation experience.
• Ability to independently own technical projects from start to finish.
• Strong Microsoft cloud, Windows Server, virtualization, and networking experience.
• Hands-on experience with routing, switching, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and client communication skills.
• Dependable, autonomous approach with the ability to take ownership without constant direction.

Responsibilities

• Own technical projects from scoping through implementation and completion.
• Handle advanced escalations across Windows Server, cloud, virtualization, and networking.
• Configure and troubleshoot SonicWall, Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, and Ubiquiti environments.
• Support Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Windows Server, and endpoint security.
• Build, migrate, and troubleshoot VMware, Hyper-V, and Citrix environments.
• Serve as a technical resource during major client onboardings.
• Work directly with engineering leadership to help move projects and escalations forward.

Level 2.5 MSP Engineering With Project Ownership

We are a growing Managed Services Provider hiring a System Administrator Level 2.5 to work closely with the Operations Engineering Manager across technical projects and advanced client escalations.

This is a strong fit for an experienced MSP engineer who is ready to move beyond traditional Level 2 support. You will independently handle infrastructure projects, take ownership of complex backend issues, and continue developing toward senior engineering responsibilities.

The role is primarily office-based with minimal field work. Client visits are generally limited to larger onboardings and project needs.

What You Will Work On
