University of North Texas is seeking a System Administrator to provide Tier 2 Service Desk support for CAS IT’s units, working from a shared queue and delivering in-person assistance across main campus and Discovery Park. You will handle a variety of hardware, software, and lab configurations.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3+ years of computing experience, with strong networking knowledge and independent work ability.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in related field and three years of computing work experience or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of computing networks, hardware and software in distributed environments.
• Ability to operate keyboards and install computer hardware; assimilate technical information.
• Ability to work independently across a wide range of technical needs.

Responsabilidades

• Provides Tier 2 Service Desk support for CAS IT's units via a shared queue.
• Alternates between phone/walk-in coverage and ticket resolution; resolves tickets in ServiceNow.
• Provides in-person support across main campus and Discovery Park, including labs and clinics.
• Documents, installs, maintains, and decommissions devices and software for faculty, staff, labs and clinics.
• Supports labs and clinics, implementing exceptions to standard configurations; access to hazardous labs is rare and supervised.
• Escalates tickets outside scope using independent judgment.
• Assists CAS IT with special projects or time-sensitive work, including rare off-hours support.
