Job summary

ASARCO LLC seeks a supervisor to lead and coordinate a work group in mining/processing operations in Arizona. Under general supervision, you will assign, supervise, and review staff, implement production plans, train in safety, and participate in daily operational duties.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with five years of related experience or a bachelor’s in mining-related discipline with internship; CEFR B2 English; willingness to work rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with five years of related operational experience, including supervisory experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical mining-related discipline with at least one internship or equivalent experience in mining/industrial environment.
• CEFR B2 - Upper Intermediate English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assign, supervise, review the work of staff
• Implement production plans according to the approved schedule
• Train staff in safety procedures
• Participate in daily operational duties, performing the most difficult tasks
• Inspect and evaluate work in progress, identify issues and direct remedial action
• Prepare estimates of staffing, materials, and equipment for projected activities
• Purchase equipment and materials for projected activities
• Conduct performance evaluations on subordinate staff
• Maintain inventory of parts and materials
• Perform daily reporting activities
• Prepare samples and reports to lab and management for plant optimization
• Enforce safe practices and promote a safety attitude among crew
• Comply with environmental requirements and promote environmental awareness
• Ensure notifications are written on faulty or unsafe equipment
• Support and enforce the Environmental, Health and Safety program
• Perform other duties as required
