Job summary

PowerSecure is seeking a Manufacturing Technical Trainer to onboard, train, and continuously develop Technicians (Levels I–Senior). The role emphasizes hands-on instruction, structured programs, and strong coaching to lift workforce capability in switchgear and power generation assembly.

You will deliver classroom and shop-floor training, ensure baseline competency in safety, quality, and production standards, and collaborate with production leadership to identify skill gaps.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and presentation skills (classroom and hands-on).
• Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for varying skill levels.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead structured onboarding programs for new technicians.
• Deliver hands-on and classroom training on mechanical and electrical assembly processes.
• Ensure new hires reach baseline competency in safety, quality, and production standards.
• Create a positive and engaging onboarding experience for new employees.
• Conduct ongoing training for technicians at all levels.
• Support skill progression from Technician I through Senior Technician.
• Partner with leadership to identify skill gaps and training needs.
• Develop and maintain training materials, work instructions, and standard work.
• Continuously improve training programs using feedback, performance data, and production needs.
• Support rollout of new processes, products, and changes through training initiatives.
• Model and reinforce respectful behavior, accountability, integrity, and professional standards.
• Ensure training aligns with safety policies and quality requirements.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to workforce capability.
• Track and document training progress and skill development.
• Ensure employee readiness before transitioning to independent work.
