Job summary

PowerSecure Brand in Durham, NC seeks a Manufacturing Technical Trainer for 1st shift. This on-site role leads onboarding, hands-on and classroom training, and ongoing development of Technicians (Levels I–Senior) in switchgear and power generation assembly.

You will deliver structured programs, collaborate with production leadership, ensure safety and quality, and translate complex concepts into approachable instruction. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
• 4+ years in a manufacturing, electrical, or technical environment.
• Experience in training, onboarding, or workforce development preferred.
• Experience delivering structured training programs.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with production leadership.
• Knowledge of electrical/mechanical drawings and safety practices.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools; safety-focused operation.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and training methods.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to simplify concepts.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead structured onboarding programs for new technicians.
• Deliver hands-on and classroom training on mechanical and electrical assembly.
• Ensure new hires meet safety, quality, and production standards.
• Create engaging onboarding experiences for new employees.
• Conduct ongoing training for technicians at all levels.
• Support skill progression from Technician I through Senior Technician.
• Identify skill gaps with leadership and develop training needs.
• Develop and maintain training materials and standard work.
• Continuously improve training programs using feedback and data.
• Support rollout of new processes and changes through training initiatives.
• Model respectful behavior and professional standards; align with safety policies.
• Track training progress and ensure readiness for independent work.
