Job summary

PowerSecure is seeking a Manufacturing Technical Trainer to onboard, train, and continuously develop Technicians I–Senior. The role emphasizes hands-on instruction, structured programs, and strong safety, quality, and production alignment.

Expect cross-functional collaboration and ongoing program improvements. The position requires 4+ years in manufacturing/technical settings, strong communication, and the ability to translate complex concepts for varied skill levels.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; associate degree in a technical field is preferred.
• 4+ years in a manufacturing/technical environment (switchgear, power generation, or similar).
• Experience in training, onboarding, or workforce development is strongly preferred.
• Experience delivering structured training programs.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with production leadership.
• Strong knowledge of electrical/mechanical schematics and assembly standards.
• Extensive knowledge of a wide variety of hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and training methods.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills (classroom and hands-on).
• Ability to simplify complex concepts for varying skill levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead onboarding programs for new technicians.
• Deliver hands-on and classroom training on mechanical and electrical assembly processes.
• Ensure new hires reach baseline competency in safety, quality, and production standards.
• Create a positive and engaging onboarding experience for new employees.
• Conduct ongoing training for technicians at all levels and support progression.
• Partner with leadership to identify skill gaps and training needs.
• Develop and maintain training materials, work instructions, and standard work.
• Continuously improve training programs using feedback and production data.
• Support rollout of new processes, products, and changes through training initiatives.
• Model professional standards and reinforce safety policies.
