Job summary

Galen Medical Group is seeking a Switchboard Operator to support our Chattanooga region with front desk and telephone duties. You will answer calls, register patients, and help schedule appointments while maintaining patient information and ensuring smooth office operations.

Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills are essential. Experience in a healthcare setting and typing 35 WPM are preferred to ensure efficient patient care and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior clerical and telephone experience in healthcare preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to type 35 WPM and use MS Outlook, Word, Excel.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephones, directs callers, and takes messages.
• Registers patients and prepopulates the patient’s health record.
• Assists with scheduling and rescheduling of appointments.
• Supports office with front desk duties and patient flow.
