Job summary

Master Machining is seeking an experienced Swiss Machinist to join our team at our sister facility Gen Metal Finishing in Valdese, NC. The role requires setting up, programming, and operating Swiss‑style machines, reading engineering drawings, and maintaining tight tolerances.

You will work independently, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance while ensuring safety and quality procedures are followed. Compensation is based on experience, with a pay rate of $24–34 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of Swiss machining experience.
• Experience setting up and operating Swiss‑style equipment.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Experience working with tight tolerances.
• Proficient with precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and maintain production quality.
• Good attendance, reliability and work ethic.
• Willingness to work overtime or Saturdays when needed.
• Able to stand for extended periods and handle materials safely.

The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience setting up, programming, and operating Swiss‑style machines and will be comfortable working independently while maintaining tight tolerances and quality standards.

• Manufacture parts to required dimensions and tolerances.
• Inspect completed parts using appropriate precision measuring equipment.

• Monitor tool wear and replace inserts, tooling, and other components as needed.
• Load material, tooling, and fixtures as required.
• Troubleshoot machining and production issues.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean work area.
• Complete required production and quality documentation.
• Follow all company safety and quality procedures.
• Assist with additional machining or production needs as required.

Compensation:

Pay is based on experience and demonstrated Swiss machining capabilities. $24-34/hr
