Job summary

New Narrative in Oregon is seeking a part-time Residential Support Specialist to join our mental health residential programs. The RSS collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to support residents with daily living activities, skills building, and medication assistance, while maintaining a clean, safe living environment.

This position covers Sundays, Mondays, and Fridays from 3:00pm to 11:00pm. You will participate in team meetings, assist with crisis de-escalation, and help residents progress

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• QMHA credentials preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age and capable of implementing emergency procedures and disaster plan.
• Must be able to administer CPR and Naloxone (Narcan).
• CPR certification must be active at all times.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage residents to support movement toward goals and transition planning.
• Assist with activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living.
• Provide meal preparation and opportunities for skills training.
• Document engagement notes, shift notes, and incident reports in resident charts.
• Assist in medication management and passes.
• Facilitate group activities and community engagement.
• Comply with Oregon Administrative Rules for Home and Community Based mental health services.
