New Narrative in Portland, Oregon, is seeking a Residential Support Specialist to join our nonprofit team. The RSS collaborates with a multidisciplinary group to support residents in mental health residential programs, focusing on daily living skills, autonomy, and community engagement.

This full-time role requires hands-on support with activities of daily living, meal prep, medication reminders, crisis intervention, documentation, and safety checks.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Capable of implementing emergency procedures and disaster plan.
• CPR certification and Naloxone administration may be required.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage with residents to support movement toward goals and transition planning.
• Assist with activities of daily living and instrumental tasks such as appointments, household tasks, hygiene, and medication management.
• Provide crisis intervention using nonviolent de-escalation techniques and document accordingly.
• Prepare meals, lead skills training, and facilitate group activities and community engagement.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of the residence and complete documentation in resident charts.
