Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking Swim Instructors or Aides to teach children how to swim and support participants in a safe aquatic environment. You will gain communication, leadership, and responsibility skills while helping youth build essential lifesaving abilities.

This role offers exposure to a non-profit organization that serves the community, with the chance to grow within a supportive YMCA team and participate in ongoing trainings and staff meetings.

Qualifications

• Age 15+ required.
• Experience with kids and passion for teaching children to swim.
• Ability to pass American Red Cross CPR Certification.
• Ability to complete and pass in-water skills assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment that allows members and participants to learn to swim.
• Encourage and support students to provide an enjoyable aquatics experience.
• Evaluate swimming skills; complete progress reports for each session; communicate with parents.
• Participate as part of the aquatics staff team to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.

What is needed for this job as our Swim Instructor (Or Instructor Aide):

• Age 15+
