Job summary

The YMCA is seeking evenings and weekends Swim Instructors or Aides in Philadelphia for ages 15+. You will help teach lifesaving swimming skills in a supportive, fun environment.

Roles involve keeping participants safe, guiding progress, and communicating with parents; CPR certification and in-water skills assessment are required; training and mentorship are provided.

Qualifications

• Age 15+
• Experience with kids and passion for teaching children to swim
• Ability to pass American Red Cross CPR Certification
• Ability to complete and pass our in-water skills assessment

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment that allows members and participants to learn to swim
• Encourage and support students to provide an enjoyable aquatics experience
• Evaluate swimming skills; complete progress reports for each session; complete communications for parents
• Participate as a part of the aquatics staff team in providing a safe and enjoyable environment
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required

What is needed for this job as our Swim Instructor (Or Instructor Aide):

• Age 15+
