Job summary

Join the Greater Philadelphia YMCA as a Swim Instructor or Aide and help teach children the vital skill of swimming! Candidates must be aged 15+, have experience with kids, and be passionate about teaching.

Qualifications

• Age 15+
• Passionate about teaching children to swim.
• Ability to pass American Red Cross CPR Certification.
• Ability to complete and pass our in-water skills assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment that allows members to learn to swim.
• Encourage and support students for an enjoyable aquatics experience.
• Evaluate swimming skills and complete progress reports.
• Participate in providing a safe environment as part of the aquatics team.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.

What is needed for this job as our Swim Instructor (Or Instructor Aide):

• Age 15+
• Experience with kids and passionate about teaching children to swim
• Ability to pass American Red Cross CPR Certification
• Ability to complete and pass our in-water skills assessment

The responsibilities we will trust you with as our Swim Instructor (Or Instructor Aide):

• Provide a safe environment that allows members and participants to learn to swim
• Encourage and support students to provide an enjoyable aquatics experience
• Evaluate swimming skills; complete progress reports for each session; complete communications for parents
• Participate as a part of the aquatics staff team in providing a safe and enjoyable environment
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required
