Job summary

The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking a Swim Instructor (age 15+). You will create a safe, positive learning environment, teach swimming skills, and track progress for participants. You’ll also complete CPR certification and in-water skills assessments as part of your onboarding, joining our supportive aquatics team.

Qualifications

• Experience with kids and passionate about teaching children to swim.
• Ability to pass American Red Cross CPR Certification.
• Ability to complete and pass our in-water skills assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment that allows members and participants to learn to swim.
• Encourage and support students to provide an enjoyable aquatics experience.
• Evaluate swimming skills; complete progress reports for each session; complete communications for parents.
• Participate as a part of the aquatics staff team in providing a safe and enjoyable environment.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.

What is needed for this job as our Swim Instructor:

• Age 15+
