Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking individuals aged 15+ to serve as swim instructors or aides. You will develop communication, leadership and responsibility while teaching lifesaving swimming skills.

Requirements include age 15+, experience with kids, ability to pass American Red Cross CPR Certification and to complete our in-water skills assessment. As part of the aquatics team you will provide a safe learning environment, encourage students, track progress, communicate with parents, and

• Experience with kids and passion for teaching children to swim.
• Ability to pass American Red Cross CPR Certification.
• Ability to complete and pass the in-water skills assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment that allows members and participants to learn to swim.
• Encourage and support students to provide an enjoyable aquatics experience.
• Evaluate swimming skills; complete progress reports for each session; complete communications for parents.
• Participate as a part of the aquatics staff team in providing a safe and enjoyable environment.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.

What is needed for this job as our Swim Instructor (Or Instructor Aide):

• Age 15+
