Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking a Swim Instructor Aide in Phoenixville, PA to help children learn swimming skills in a safe, supportive environment. You will assist lead instructors, supervise sessions, and promote positive aquatic experiences for members and participants.

The role emphasizes communication, leadership, and responsibility, with rewards like a summer bonus and free YMCA membership. Must be 15 or older and committed to the YMCA's mission of community wellness.

Qualifications

• Age 15+
• Experience with kids and passionate about teaching children to swim
• Ability to pass American Red Cross CPR Certification
• Ability to complete and pass our in-water skills assessment

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment that allows members and participants to learn to swim
• Encourage and support students to provide an enjoyable aquatics experience
• Evaluate swimming skills; complete progress reports for each session; complete communications for parents
• Participate as a part of the aquatics staff team in providing a safe and enjoyable environment
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required

What is needed for this job as our Swim Instructor Aide:
