Job summary

The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking enthusiastic Swim Instructors or Aides to welcome members and help children learn to swim in a safe, supportive environment. You will develop communication, leadership, and responsibility while contributing to our community.

Ideal candidates are 15+ years old, with experience with kids and a passion for teaching swimming; must pass American Red Cross CPR certification and complete our in-water skills assessment.

Qualifications

• Age 15+
• Experience with kids and passionate about teaching children to swim
• Ability to pass American Red Cross CPR Certification
• Ability to complete and pass our in-water skills assessment

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment that allows members and participants to learn to swim
• Encourage and support students to provide an enjoyable aquatics experience
• Evaluate swimming skills; complete progress reports for each session; complete communications for parents
• Participate as a part of the aquatics staff team in providing a safe and enjoyable environment
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required

What is needed for this job as our Swim Instructor (Or Instructor Aide):
