Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking enthusiastic swim instructors or aides aged 15+ to join our aquatics team. You will help children learn to swim, create a safe environment, and build communication and leadership skills.

We offer a $500 bonus for 300 hours during Memorial Day to Labor Day, free YMCA membership, flexible schedules, discounts on child care and summer camp programs, and opportunities to grow within the nonprofit. CPR certification and in-water skills assessment are required.

Qualifications

• Age 15+
• Experience with kids and passion for teaching children to swim
• Ability to pass American Red Cross CPR Certification
• Ability to complete and pass our in-water skills assessment

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment that allows members and participants to learn to swim
• Encourage and support students to provide an enjoyable aquatics experience
• Evaluate swimming skills; complete progress reports for each session; complete communications for parents
• Participate as a part of the aquatics staff team in providing a safe and enjoyable environment
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required

What is needed for this job as our Swim Instructor (Or Instructor Aide):
