Job summary

The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking a Swim Instructor or Instructor Aide for on-site work at Willow Grove YMCA, 3300 Davisville Road, Hatboro, PA. We welcome teens 15+ who are passionate about teaching kids to swim and who can demonstrate strong communication, leadership, and responsibility.

Important requirements include CPR certification through the American Red Cross and completing our in-water skills assessment.

Qualifications

• Age 15+ required to apply.
• Experience with kids and a passion for teaching swimming.
• Ability to pass American Red Cross CPR Certification.
• Ability to pass our in-water skills assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment for learning to swim.
• Encourage and support students for an enjoyable aquatics experience.
• Evaluate swimming skills and complete progress reports for each session.
• Complete communications for parents and participate in staff meetings.

What is needed for this job as our Swim Instructor (Or Instructor Aide):

• Age 15+
• Experience with kids and passionate about teaching children to swim
• Ability to pass American Red Cross CPR Certification
• Ability to complete and pass our in-water skills assessment

The responsibilities we will trust you with as our Swim Instructor (Or Instructor Aide):

• Provide a safe environment that allows members and participants to learn to swim
• Encourage and support students to provide an enjoyable aquatics experience
• Evaluate swimming skills; complete progress reports for each session; complete communications for parents
• Participate as a part of the aquatics staff team in providing a safe and enjoyable environment
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required
