Job summary

Christian Street YMCA on 1724 Christian Street in Philadelphia seeks a Swim Instructor or Instructor Aide. You will help children learn swimming, provide a safe aquatics environment, and support progress reporting to parents and staff teams.

Requirements include being 15 or older, passion for teaching kids to swim, CPR certification, and successful in-water skills assessment. Join a supportive YMCA team committed to community wellness.

Qualifications

• Must be age 15 or older.
• Experience with kids and passion for teaching children to swim.
• Ability to pass American Red Cross CPR Certification.
• Ability to complete and pass our in-water skills assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment that allows members and participants to learn to swim.
• Encourage and support students to provide an enjoyable aquatics experience.
• Evaluate swimming skills; complete progress reports for each session; complete communications for parents.
• Participate as a part of the aquatics staff team in providing a safe and enjoyable environment.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.

Passionate about teaching the lifesaving skill of swimming? We are looking for individuals, age 15+ to serve as swim instructors or aides. As a swim instructor or aide you develop important skills such as communication, leadership and responsibility that will serve you for a lifetime!

What is needed for this job as our Swim Instructor (Or Instructor Aide):

• Age 15+
