Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking Swim Instructor Aides to help teach swimming to children and ensure a safe, positive learning environment at our facilities in the Greater Philadelphia area.

Ideal candidates are at least 15 years old with a passion for teaching kids, experience with children, and the ability to pass American Red Cross CPR certification and our in-water skills assessment. Join a supportive team and grow with the Y.

• Experience with kids and passionate about teaching children to swim
• Ability to pass American Red Cross CPR Certification
• Ability to complete and pass our in-water skills assessment

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment that allows members and participants to learn to swim
• Encourage and support students to provide an enjoyable aquatics experience
• Evaluate swimming skills; complete progress reports for each session; complete communications for parents
• Participate as a part of the aquatics staff team in providing a safe and enjoyable environment
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required

What is needed for this job as our Swim Instructor Aide:

• Age 15+

• Experience with kids and passionate about teaching children to swim
