Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago seeks a Swim Instructor to teach swim skills to both kids and adults, promoting confidence in the water. You will provide engaging customer service to members and guests while supporting swim league activities.

This role offers flexible hours, free training and certification opportunities, and a complimentary YMCA membership. No prior experience is required, with on-the-job training available.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Current YMCA Swim Lessons or ARC Water Safety Instructor certification, CPR, First Aid, AED and Oxygen certification or complete YMCA Aquatics Academy training and certification.
• Passion for working with youth and ability to provide high-quality instruction using age-appropriate practices.
• Meets physical qualifications required for certification in job

Requirements

• Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor
• Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children
• Reporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor
• Completing all child abuse prevention training as required
