Qualifications

• Must pass an advanced swimming test.
• First-Aid and CPR certifications required.
• Able to communicate YMCA programs to members.
• Applicants aged 15 must have lifeguard certification.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, nurturing and genuine environment for members and guests.
• Ensure safety with mature judgment and strong decision making.
• Develop rapport with members, participants and staff.
• Collaborate with other staff as part of a team.
• Lead swim classes per the Y USA program and maximize participation.
• Motivate self-awareness and confidence through swimming and aquatics.
• Submit all class paperwork as required by supervisor.
• Share student progress with participants and parents during sessions.
• Maintain a positive, responsible demeanor at all times.
• Attend in-service trainings and uphold YMCA core values.
