Job summary

Goldfish Swim School - Frederick is seeking part-time swim instructors for year-round employment. Leadership opportunities arise within 3–6 months, and you will be paid while you train.

You’ll teach children, enforce water-safety rules, and communicate progress to parents after each 30-minute lesson. The role offers a fixed weekly schedule and opportunities for growth within a friendly team.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with children.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to complete lifeguard, CPR & AED certification during training.
• Comfortable in a warm, humid pool environment with chlorine.

Responsibilities

• Provide swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
• Educate students on safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents.
• Evaluate students’ progress and complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Interact with parents/guardians on the activities and development of students’ swim skills.
• Use problem-solving and creative thinking to identify and resolve challenges.
• Maintain and ensure proper storage of all pool equipment; place/remove lane lines and class materials.
• Perform light cleaning duties such as window washing, deck mopping, trash removal.
• Attend occasional mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours.
• Fulfill other duties or responsibilities as assigned by your employer.
