Job summary

YMCA of Northern Colorado is hiring a Swim Instructor to deliver engaging swim lessons and promote water safety. No prior teaching experience is required, but a positive attitude and strong swimming ability are essential. Bilingual Spanish/English speakers receive a +10% differential after testing fluent in both languages.

Training, lesson plans, and support are provided. This role offers flexible shifts including mornings, afternoons, and weekends to fit your schedule.

Qualifications

  • Experience teaching swim lessons is not required but preferred.
  • Proficient swimming and safety/rescue skills are essential.
  • Blood Borne Pathogens training within 30 days of hire.
  • Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain enthusiasm and a positive attitude while teaching.
  • Relate positively to staff, parents, and participants.
  • Be organized and eager to teach; lesson plans provided.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels or without correction.
