Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Denver is seeking an energetic Swim Coach/Instructor to deliver engaging lessons, ensure safety, and help participants build confidence. You will guide swimmers through skill progression, maintain safe pool operations, and promote a welcoming environment.

As a valued member of the Aquatics team, you will teach, reinforce pool rules, track attendance, and support members and the community through a positive, energetic approach.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Swim Lesson Certification.
• CPR/AED and First Aid within 30 days of hire.
• Listen First within 6 months of hire or an action plan in place.
• Strong communication and listening skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain pool safety during lessons and ensure participants acquire skills.
• Educate participants on pool rules and enforce them.
• Be visible to members and assist with membership retention goals.
• Keep attendance records and complete level skill sheets.
• Be in the water 50-100% of class time.
• Communicate cancellations or reschedules to participants/parents.

The individual will be responsible for providing a safe swim instruction for participants.
