Job summary

EXOS in Saint Paul, MN seeks a Swim Instructor to teach diverse levels and age groups following site guidelines. You will plan lessons, select drills, demonstrate skills and help students overcome fear while maintaining a safe, positive environment.

You’ll attend trainings, keep records, issue course completion certificates, communicate progress to students and parents, enforce facility rules, and support EXOS’ readiness approach.

Qualifications

• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or ability to obtain at time of hire.
• Current Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification or ability to obtain at time of hire.
• Prior lifeguarding or teaching swim lessons preferred but not required.
• Must be at least 16 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Teach various levels and age groups per site guidelines.
• Plan lessons, select drills, and evaluate progress.
• Demonstrate skills, correct performance, reduce fear, use teaching devices.
• Maintain a safe, positive teaching environment and attend trainings.
• Maintain records and issue course completion certificates.
• Perform swimming strokes and skills taught at all levels.
• Communicate progress to students or parents and enforce facility rules.
• Other tasks as assigned.
