Job summary

Indian Boundary YMCA in Downers Grove, IL is seeking a Swim Instructor to teach swim skills to kids and adults while prioritizing safety and fun. You’ll work in the pool, deliver great customer service to members, and help with swim league instruction as needed.

No experience is required—the YMCA provides free training and certification and supports your growth with flexible hours, including weekday evenings and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Certification in YMCA Swim Lessons or ARC Water Safety Instructor, CPR, First Aid, AED and Oxygen.
• Ability to teach swim skills to kids and adults with safety in mind.

Responsibilities

Requirements:

• Must be at least 15 years old
• Current certification YMCA Swim Lessons or ARC Water Safety Instructor, CPR, First Aid, AED and Oxygen certification or must successfully complete the YMCA’s Aquatics Academy training program resulting in certification
• Passion for working with diverse youth and ability to provide a high-quality of instruction using age-appropriate practices
• Meets physical qualifications required for certification in job
