Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago in Naperville, IL is seeking a Swim Instructor to teach swim skills to all ages and provide outstanding service to members.

Starting at $18.00/hour with training provided; flexible evening and weekend hours available Monday–Friday 5-9pm and Saturday–Sunday 9am–2pm. No experience needed, free training and certification offered. This role helps you stay active, gives you a sense of community, and supports growth within the YMCA.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Current certification YMCA Swim Lessons or ARC Water Safety Instructor, CPR, First Aid, AED or complete YMCA Aquatics Academy training.
• Passion for teaching youth with age-appropriate instruction.
• Meets physical qualifications required for certification in job.

Responsibilities

• Teach swim skills to kids and adults, helping them gain confidence in the water.
• Deliver excellent customer service to our members and guests.
• Assist with Swim League Instructor duties, teaching pre-swim team kids.

• Pay or shift range: $18 USD to $22.75 USD
  The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 15 years old
• Current certification YMCA Swim Lessons or ARC Water Safety Instructor, CPR, First Aid, AED and Oxygen certification or must successfully complete the YMCA’s Aquatics Academy training program resulting in certification
• Passion for working with diverse youth and ability to provide a high-quality of instruction using age-appropriate practices
• Meets physical qualifications required for certification in job
