Job summary

Current Lighting is seeking an on-site engineer to provide product design and manufacturing support in Plympton, MA. You will troubleshoot fabrication and assembly, investigate failures and warranty issues, and manage drawings, BOMs and specifications.

SAP Variant Configurator experience is a plus. You will build prototypes, drive continuous improvement, and partner with manufacturing to ensure quality, cost reduction and manufacturability while meeting performance and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 2–5 years preferred.
• Proficiency in 2D drawings and 3D CAD software.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, prototyping and testing.
• Experience with SAP Variant Configurator is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site engineering support for existing products, including troubleshooting fabrication, assembly, testing, and quality issues with manufacturing personnel.
• Investigate product failures, warranty claims, and customer returns; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Manage engineering changes, BOMs, drawings, specifications, and related product documentation.
• Serve as the product engineering liaison for SAP VC, providing requirements and validating configuration behavior.
• Drive continuous improvement, value engineering, cost reduction, product reliability, and manufacturability initiatives.
• Build and evaluate prototypes, samples, and product modifications to support manufacturing, project, and customer needs.
