Job summary

Current Lighting seeks a Sustaining Engineering Manager to lead a team supporting existing product lines. The role partners with Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Sourcing and external suppliers to meet cost, quality and operational goals.

Responsibilities include mentoring engineers, prioritizing work, resolving quality and reliability issues, and guiding EC changes while enabling continuous improvement across the lifecycle of products.

Qualifications

• The candidate has 6+ years in product development, sustaining or manufacturing engineering.
• 2+ years in leadership or management; global engineering experience preferred.
• Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement background; UL 1598 experience preferred.
• Direct lighting or electro‑mechanical product experience preferred; optical lighting experience preferred.
• Must understand DC circuits (Ohm's law).
• PMP certification or equivalent PM experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of sustaining engineers and project resources.
• Establish priorities, allocate resources, and monitor project execution.
• Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Manage engineering support for existing product portfolios.
• Lead resolution of product quality, reliability, warranty, and field issues.
• Support manufacturing facilities with technical expertise and problem solving.
• Coordinate corrective actions and design improvements as required.
• Oversee EC process for sustaining and product development activities.
• Ensure changes are evaluated, documented, communicated, and implemented.
• Drive timely closure of engineering and maintenance activities.
