Job summary

IPG Photonics in Marlborough, MA seeks a Sustaining Product Engineer to support the LightWELD handheld laser welding product family in manufacturing. The role centers on released-product support, process stability, RCCA/CPAs, ECOs, and continuous improvement of assembly, test, quality, reliability, and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Product Engineering.
• 2–4 years of sustaining, manufacturing or related engineering experience.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks 3D CAD and 2D drafting, GD&T, ASME Y14.5.
• Experience with RCCA, CAPA, PFMEA, or 8D problem-solving methodologies.
• Strong analytical, hands-on problem-solving, and cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Support sustaining activities for released LightWELD products.
• Lead or support troubleshooting and root-cause/corrective action.
• Own ECOs, drawings and BOM updates, configuration control, and document releases.
• Collaborate with production, quality, service, supply chain, and software teams to improve assembly, test, and costs.
• Create, maintain, and revise SolidWorks models, drawings, fixtures, and records.
