Job summary

PAE seeks a motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team in multiple major offices, including San Francisco, CA. The program provides 10–12 weeks of hands-on experience in sustainable engineering design, collaborating with engineering teams on a range of building systems projects from planning to execution.

You will gain exposure to plumbing, energy modeling, non-potable water systems, and design calculations, with opportunities to participate in site visits and construction

Qualifications

• 3rd year undergraduate student preferred.
• Civil, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering major.
• Desire to work in the Building Design industry.
• Passionate about sustainable design solutions.
• Effective Communicator.

Responsibilities

• Design layout of plumbing systems.
• Onsite non-potable reuse and nutrient recovery systems.
• Water data (WUI) analysis.
• Electrification of domestic hot water systems.
• CAD and Revit workflows.
• Energy modeling.
• Design calculations.
• Construction administration and site visits.
• General project timeline/overview.
• Specifications.
• Site Visits/Site Observation Reports.
• Cost estimate review/preparation.
• M/E coordination schedule.
