Job summary

PAE seeks a motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team across our major offices in San Francisco, Seattle, New York, Boston, Denver, Portland, and Los Angeles. The program offers hands-on sustainable design experience, exposure to building systems, and collaboration with engineering and design teams.

The internship covers plumbing design, energy modeling, CAD/Revit work, and site visits, with a competitive hourly base rate and paid time off.

Qualifications

• 3rd year undergraduate student preferred Civil, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering major.
• Desire to work in the Building Design industry.
• Passionate about sustainable design solutions.
• Effective Communicator.

Responsibilities

• Design layout of plumbing systems.
• Onsite non-potable reuse and nutrient recovery systems.
• Water data (WUI) analysis.
• Electrification of domestic hot water systems.
• CAD and Revit.
• Energy modeling.
• Design calculations.
• Construction administration and site visits.
• General project timeline/overview.
• Specifications.
• Site Visits/Site Observation Reports.
• Cost estimate review/preparation.
• M/E coordination schedule.
