Job summary

Graham Packaging is looking for a Production Manager to lead the Production Department. The role focuses on safe, cost-effective production aligned with schedules, while coordinating with maintenance and sales to meet customer needs.

A Bachelor’s Degree with at least five years in a manufacturing supervisory/management role is preferred, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and/or related operations experience required.
• At least five years in an operations supervisory/management role in manufacturing.
• Demonstrated leadership skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enforces safety, health, quality GMP and company policies.
• Enforces policies and procedures across production.
• Oversees Production personnel HR issues: hiring, reviews, attendance, grievances.
• Executes production schedule to meet time, cost, and quality targets.
• Assigns oversees safety, housekeeping, CQI, and related projects.
• Maintains cost-effective inventory levels for production needs.
• Coordinates with Maintenance on preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Liaises with Sales to meet customer requirements and plant utilization.
• Manages temporary staffing to meet labor efficiency goals.
• Attends meetings as necessary.
• Assists in taking physical inventories per corporate procedure.
• Conducts trials and R&D for packaging conditions (banding, wrap).
• Ensures SOPs are developed and staff trained accordingly.
• May handle special projects; travel 0–25%.
