Job summary

Graham Packaging Company is seeking an Operations Manager to lead production and coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient manufacturing of quality products. The role includes enforcing safety, managing staffing and training, and driving cost efficiency while meeting schedule commitments.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent operations experience, 5+ years in a supervisory manufacturing role, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree and/or related operations experience; equivalent combination accepted.
• Proven leadership in a manufacturing environment (5+ years preferred).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with managers, employees, vendors, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Understand, follow and enforce safety, health, quality GMP and company policies.
• Oversee all Production department personnel and HR issues (hiring, reviews, disciplinary, attendance).
• Lead plant staff, shift and safety meetings; conduct training based on needs assessment.
• Execute production schedules to satisfy customer service in time, cost, and quality.
• Manage temporary staffing to meet labor efficiency goals.
• Develop shift personnel to meet department goals; lead special projects as needed.
• Conduct trials and R&D for packaging processes; participate in planning meetings.
• Develop methods to optimize manufacturing efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure SOPs are developed and staff trained to meet operations objectives.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
