Job summary

Arup is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern (Summer 2027) in Houston to design power distribution, lighting, and grounding for building and infrastructure projects. You will perform short circuit studies, lighting calculations, and prepare technical reports while collaborating with multiple disciplines.

The role emphasizes planning, communication, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset; an electrical engineering degree with power focus is expected, with EIT/FE preferred.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or similar.
• Interest in electrical engineering with emphasis on power in buildings and infrastructure.
• Strong planning, organizing and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design power distribution, lighting and grounding for buildings and infrastructure projects.
• Perform short circuit, overcurrent coordination, load and arc flash studies.
• Lighting photometric calculations using AGI.
• Assign circuitry for Power and Lighting devices; develop technical reports.
• Work with Revit MEP and SKM on project tasks; collaborate with other disciplines.
