Job summary

Arup is offering an Electrical Engineering Intern position for Summer 2027 in Austin. You’ll contribute to power distribution and lighting design for buildings and infrastructure, perform short circuit and coordination studies, and support photometric calculations with AGI 32.

You will work with Revit MEP and SKM tools, write technical reports, and collaborate across disciplines. Candidates should be pursuing a relevant degree, show initiative, and be eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design power distribution, lighting and lighting controls for buildings and infrastructure.
• Perform short circuit, overcurrent coordination, load and arc flash studies.
• Create lighting photometric calculations using AGI 32.
• Assign circuitry for Power and Lighting devices.
• Prepare technical reports and electrical calculations.
• Work with Revit MEP and SKM on project tasks.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects and vendors; attend meetings.
