Job summary

Arup is seeking an electrical engineering intern in Los Angeles to contribute to power systems design and building services. The role focuses on power distribution, lighting, grounding, and coordination studies within infrastructure projects.

Candidates should be pursuing an Electrical Engineering degree with an emphasis on power. EIT/FE preferred; strong teamwork and communication skills are essential for collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related field.
• Interest in electrical engineering with a focus on power in buildings and infra projects.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly, in writing and speech.
• EIT/ FE certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design power distribution, lighting, and grounding for buildings and infrastructure projects.
• Perform short circuit, overcurrent coordination, load and arc flash studies.
• Conduct lighting photometric calculations using AGI.
• Assign circuitry for power and lighting devices.
• Prepare technical reports and electrical calculations.
