Job summary

Arup is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern in Austin, TX to design power distribution, lighting, and grounding for buildings and infrastructure. You will perform short-circuit studies and coordination, lighting calculations with AGI, and help develop reports and electrical calculations.

You’ll use Revit MEP and SKM on projects and collaborate with other disciplines, gaining experience across consulting for sustainable built environments.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), or similar degree, bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering (BSAE), or Bachelor of Science in Engineering Concentration: Electrical
• Demonstrated interest in electrical engineering with a focus on power in buildings/infrastructure projects
• Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas clearly in writing and speech

Responsibilities

• Design power distribution, lighting and lighting controls for buildings and infrastructure projects
• Perform short circuit, overcurrent coordination, load and arc flash studies
• Conduct lighting photometric calculations using AGI
• Assign circuitry for Power and Lighting devices
• Prepare technical reports and calculations
• Work on projects using Revit MEP and SKM
• Collaborate with other disciplines and vendors to learn new topics
• Attend meetings and participate in discussions with disciplines and Architects
