Arup invites you to join our Electrical Engineering internship in Washington, DC. You will design power distribution, lighting controls, and fire alarm systems, while modeling electrical systems in 3D using Revit and developing detailed calculations and reports.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Architectural Engineering (BSAE) or similar degree.
• Demonstrated interest in the electrical engineering industry.
• Skills in planning and organizing.
• Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way, both in person and in writing; initiative and teamwork.
• Ability to prioritize effectively and stay organized in a dynamic environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based work.
• Presentation skills with colleagues.
• Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Design power distribution, lighting controls, fire alarm systems, grounding and lightning protection systems.
• Lighting photometric calculations.
• Circuitry for Power and Lighting devices.
• Model electrical systems for projects in 3D using Revit (on the job training provided).
• Development of reports and electrical calculations.
• Work with other disciplines and vendors to gain knowledge on new subjects.
• Attend meetings and engage with other disciplines and Architects to gain knowledge and experience.
• Contribute to internal process improvement initiatives.
