Job summary

Sustainable Comfort, Inc. (SCI) in Worcester seeks a Maintenance Manager to oversee field maintenance for a diverse portfolio in development, construction, lease up and ongoing operations.

You will supervise Maintenance Technicians, coordinate capital improvements, and implement preventive maintenance policies aligned with owners’ goals and budget constraints. This role emphasizes proactive problem solving and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, real estate, business, or related field.
• Field experience in building trades (labor, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry).
• Passion for real estate development, building operations, architecture, construction, or urban planning.
• Working proficiency with technology (mobile devices, computers, software).
• OSHA 10-Hour card completed within 90 days of employment.
• Valid driver’s license in Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

• Interpret tenant requests by assessing urgency and scope.
• Coordinate maintenance to match severity and budget constraints.
• Document all maintenance operations and policies.
• Assist in managing sub-contractors and reports to stay under budget.
• Develop and implement move-in/move-out inspections and preventative maintenance programs.
• Communicate effectively with owners, tenants, and stakeholders.
• Collaborate to address issues across maintenance and operations holistically.
