We’re looking for an amazing Specialist, Sustainability & Community Programs professional to fill this role, which is based in our Anchorage office. You’ll be responsible for supporting HAP’s sustainability strategy and community engagement efforts across Alaska’s port and interior locations. This role involves embedding sustainable practices into operations, coordinating events and partnerships, managing sustainability data and reporting, and driving employee participation in community initiatives. The Sustainability & Community Programs Specialist will work closely with local teams, external partners, and the communications department to advance sustainability goals and highlight the company’s impact. The ideal candidate will have experience in sustainability, community relations, and event coordination.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and implement sustainability initiatives across port and interior locations
  • Supporting community engagement programs and partnerships, including event planning and execution
  • Collect, analyze, and report sustainability data to support company goals and compliance
  • Support internal and external communications, including social media, to promote sustainability and community impact
  • Drive employee participation in community and sustainability programs
  • Administrative & Office Support: Manage recycling, parking passes, key control, office supplies, snacks/coffee, and general office operations.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in customer service operations or travel/tour industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and processes.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Holland America Line/Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H‑1B status).

  • Works across multiple locations in Alaska, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to advance sustainability and community objectives.

  • May lead project teams, coordinate volunteers, and manage resources for events and initiatives.
