Job summary

Eau Palm Beach is seeking a Sushi Prep Cook to join our Nobu Manalapan Culinary department. The role involves preparing sushi bar entrees and side items, sushi rolls, and sashimi, with deep knowledge of various cooking methods, knife skills, and ingredient procurement.

The candidate will work full-time in a fast-paced environment, requiring weekend, holiday, and night availability. High school diploma and culinary training are essential, with at least 2 years sushi bar experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent vocational training.
• Culinary training or apprenticeship certification.
• At least 2 years sushi bar experience in high-volume setting.
• Ability to communicate clearly with guests and coworkers.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Clear, legible communication.
• Attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize and organize tasks.
• Need to stay calm and use good judgment under pressure.
• Able to work 10–12 hour shifts in hot/noisy environments.
• Ability to move cases and work with various food ingredients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sushi bar entrees and side items, including nigiri, rolls and sashimi.
• Coordinate across sushi bar stations and ensure proper prep procedures.
• Procure and organize ingredients for the restaurant.
• Follow recipes and uphold Eau Resort & Spa and Nobu standards.
