Job summary

Onural Group is seeking an experienced Sushi Chef for our Phoenix restaurant. The ideal candidate excels in sushi rolling, plating, and fast-paced kitchen execution, with advanced knife skills and customer interaction to offer dish recommendations when asked.

Requirements include culinary education (preferred), 2 years of sushi experience, fish butchery skills, recipe development, and strong time-management and organization. Benefits include PTO and health plan options.

Qualifications

• Culinary arts education and training (preferred).
• Cooking and sushi-making experience. 2 year Minimum.
• Advance fish butchery skills.
• Creation, manipulation, review of recipes.
• Food handler's card.
• Knife skills.
• Communication, time-management, and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers as they sit down.
• Prepare raw fish and other sushi ingredients.
• Roll and plate dishes for customers, taking note of individual requests.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
• Coordinate with wait staff to ensure an efficient flow of orders.
• Regularly take kitchen inventory.
• Knowledgeable in ordering.
• Organize and post staff schedule.
• Organize and revise prep for service.
• Effective communication with FOH for 86’d items as well as specials.
