Job summary

Onural Group in Palm Springs is seeking an experienced Sushi Chef to join our team. You will prepare sushi rolls and dishes from the sushi bar, interact with customers, and recommend dishes when asked.

A busy sushi restaurant background and advanced knife skills are required. Responsibilities include preparing raw fish, rolling and plating, keeping the workspace clean, coordinating with wait staff, and managing sushi bar inventory and setup for the day ahead.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' sushi chef experience.
• Culinary arts education and training preferred.
• Cooking and sushi-making experience.
• Food handler's card.
• Knife skills.
• Strong communication, time-management, and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare raw fish and other sushi ingredients.
• Roll and plate dishes.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
• Coordinate with wait staff to ensure efficient flow of orders.
• Regularly take sushi bar inventory.
• Maintain a stock station for service and next-day setup.
• Learn restaurant techniques and preparation.
