Job summary

SAM, a nationwide geospatial leader, seeks a Survey Project Manager in Glen Allen, VA. You will lead land surveying projects from initiation to delivery, ensuring quality, regulatory compliance, and financial outcomes for diverse clients.

As primary client liaison, you’ll coordinate field and office teams, support business development, and mentor staff to grow capabilities across multiple markets while upholding safety and performance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline/and or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience in project/phase management for large scale projects.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD, Micro Station, Geopack, MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead land surveying projects from planning through final delivery.
• Manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, contracts, billing, and overall financial performance.
• Supervise and coordinate field and office teams across multiple concurrent projects.
• Provide technical oversight and sign/seal survey deliverables as required.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, safety, and quality standards.
• Serve as primary client contact and maintain relationships with engineers and stakeholders.
• Support business development by identifying opportunities and contributing to proposals.
• Mentor staff and represent SAM at client meetings and industry events.
